Nuovo disco di cover per Cat Power

Il 14 gennaio 2022, Cat Power pubblicherà su Domino un nuovo album di cover, intitolato semplicemente Covers.

Non una novità per la cantautrice, visto che Chan Marshall (questo il suo vero nome), ha già realizzato album con brani di altri artisti in passato: ricordiamo The Cover Records del 2000, Jukebox del 2008, l’EP Dark End Of The Street sempre del 2008, ad esempio.

Interamente prodotto da Cat Power, Covers include i brani rivisitati di Frank Ocean, Bob Seger, Lana Del Rey, Jackson Browne, Iggy Pop, The Pogues, Nick Cave, The Replacements e molti altri, oltre che una nuova versione di Hate, brano dell’artista contenuto in The Greatest (2006), qui reintitolato Unhate.

Cat Power ha annunciato l’uscita del disco al The Late Late Show with James Corden, e ha pubblicato dei video per Bad Religio di Frank Ocean e per A Pair Of Brown Eyes dei Pogues.
